Nights Transport Administrator

Job Description

Specific Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Ensure smooth running of the transport office so that it is efficient
  • Liaising with inbound and outbound drivers, internal and external customers, workshop and warehouse.
  • Ensure that accurate and up to date information and communications are passed to the driver to enable a safe and cost effective service.
  • Live de-brief drivers on return routes, capturing relevant data including standard trip sheets, returns, equipment and discrepancies – escalate where necessary.
  • Ensuring all Critical Control Points which are required on paperwork are completed and checked as part of the Food Safety culture on site.
  • Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture through your individual actions.
  • Taking calls and communicating issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Operate relevant MHE (if applicable / permitted and authorised) safely and in accordance with the correct procedures
  • Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with Buffaload Logistics’ accident reporting procedure
  • Provide support in the Yard as required by Operations only using equipment that you are trained and authorised to use
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Uniform Guidelines and Health and Safety Policy
  • Carry out other relevant reasonable management requests as required by your Line Manager
  • Understanding of WTD, Tachograph legislation and EU legislation;
  • Management of the driver rotas, allocation of fleet
  • Management of customer portals

Salary

£22,000 – £23,895  per year

  • 12 hour shift
  • 4 days on, 4 days off
  • Includes weekend working
Qualifications and Skills

Experience

Core

  • Experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within an administration /planning role;
  • Familiar with using fleet telematics such as verilocation and ISOtrack

Desirable

    • Previous experience working within a similar role, business and / or industry
