Launched with great success at British Potato 2007, the company was formed through a partnership combining entrepreneurs Ross Taylor and Rod Garnham with Robot specialists Nigel Richardson and John Hudson.
Buffaload exhibited a potato sack palletizing system at Harrogate that demonstrated a revolutionary new vacuum gripper designed by the company that simplifies and improves the handling of potatoes and similar products. "The new gripper gently releases the sacks to the pallet sack rather than dropping them from a height as the more conventional mechanical grippers do," Managing Director Rod Garnham said. "This produces a neater stack and also reduces the risk of damage to the product or packaging. "The gripper also simplifies the presentation conveyor, and with our system this can be a simple belt because there are no gripper fingers to be accommodated by the conveyor during the pick up process."
