We have joined the huge number of businesses, local authorities and charities who have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant.
Lt Col Andrew Gifford and Captain Christian Hughes, of 158 Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, in Peterborough came to Ellington on the 17th of October to sign the covenant with Julie Feltwell, our MD. Ian Perks and Julian Boulton were also present, representing the many veterans who are part of our work force. Ian served with the RAF and Julian with the Army.
In upholding the covenant, we as a company will seek to encourage the employment of veterans and also support our employees who chose to be members of the reserve forces. We will also participate in Armed Forces Day on the 29th of June.
If we demonstrate that we are active in our support of the Armed Forces we will proceed through the Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), which acknowledges employers who have provided exceptional support to the armed forces community and defence by going above and beyond their covenant pledges. Through a 3 tier approach of bronze, silver and gold awards, the scheme recognises the different levels of commitment provided by employers. Working to each level allows us to really help and be involved with Britain’s defence forces.
